RE: 04cv04151 ACLU v. Dept. of Defense, et al.
Dear Sir,
While I respect your position and the intent of your ruling in favor of the ACLU, (‘to provide the best evidence to the public’) “public” unfortunately includes people whose reaction to such evidence will not be civil.
While you, the American public, Ms. Lewis, and I can assimilate and accept this ‘best evidence’, there are others in this world whose conception of decorum has not evolved since the 12th Century.
In light of the recent unrest in parts of the Muslim world and the resulting damage caused to the reputation of the United States and its allies, I think your ruling is irresponsible. Ultimately, it undermines the mission of our troops and the war on terror in general.
War is not a place for politics.
